NEW LIFE BIBLE CHURCH WAS ESTABLISHED TO FEED PEOPLE THE WORD OF GOD ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
New Life Bible Church grew out of New Life Bible College chapel services in 1979. During that time, Dr. Norvel Hayes purchased an old Methodist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, which is currently over 108 years old. Keith and Mabel Chancey are the Senior Pastor of New Life Bible Church. Assistant Pastor is Karen Cross and the Administrated Pastor is Melissa Baily. At New Life Bible Church the uncompromising Word of God is preached at our weekly services with signs following. The Church also holds seminars, guest speakers and special events on a regular basis and we reach beyond our four walls by broadcasting these events through our live web cast and video archives. New Life Bible Church is a family atmosphere with a mix of Parishioners and Bible College Students.
Pastor Keith and Mabel Chancey have been married for 40 years and have two adult daughters. They also are expecting their second grandchild.
Both Keith and Mabel where raised in the Methodist Church and were baptized in the Holy Ghost in their early 20’s. By 1977 they had met Dr. Norvel Hayes in one of his Blairsville Georgia meetings and he quickly became their mentor and good friend. Throughout their life together they have ministered in churches, on streets, in tents and store fronts.
Pastor Mabel operates very powerfully in the gifts of the spirit, she is both a preacher and teacher. She teaches the adult Sunday school class at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings. She is also very active in our Sunday morning service and helps oversee our children’s church. Mabel was trained as a public school teacher and serviced 41 years in that capacity. Mabel is currently studying the teachings of a number of present day bible teachers along with her studies of Dr. Norvel Hayes and Kenneth E. Hagin’s teachings.
Pastor Keith has spent most of his life studying Dr. Norvel Hayes and Kenneth E Hagan’s teachings. In 1969 he was called into the ministry while still in the Methodist Church. Many of the Gifts of the Spirit operate in Pastor Keith and he has had a number of visions throughout his life. In 1988 Pastor Keith received the Elders Mantle over New Life Bible Church, as they laid hands on him, Pastor Keith saw the Mantle come through the ceiling and rest upon him, this event changed his life and ministry forever. In November 2016 Dr. Norvel Hayes asked Pastor Keith to take over all his ministries as the overseer. In late December of that same year the Lord directed Pastor Keith to receive the office of Pastor over New Life Bible Church.
In calling Pastor Keith into the pastorate the Lord Made this statement;
“New Life Bible Church will touch the world one more time!”
Melissa Bailey was born into and raised by a spirit-filled family. Melissa grew up in Cleveland, TN and has attended New Life Bible Church off and on throughout her life. Dr. Norvel Hayes laid hand on and prayed over Melissa when she was less than 5 years old, and Melissa would often imitate Benny Hinn while playing with her older sister.
Melissa attended North Georgia College and State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After college, Melissa spent the next 2 years pursuing the Lord out of her hunger and desire to be used by Him. During this time, Melissa studied the Word daily and was trained by the Holy Ghost and various Bible scholars to include: Dr. Norvel Hayes, Kenneth E. Hagin, Lester Summrall, R.W. Schambach, Benny Hinn, and T. L. Osborn, to name a few. It was also during this time, that Melissa received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and her prayer language. Melissa also received countless biblical and ministerial training from her father, Pastor Keith Chancey.
Melissa began her professional career as a Victim Witness Advocate with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office in Gwinnett County, GA. While in this position, Melissa’s passion to minister and her compassion for people only grew stronger as she served as a personal advocate for victims of felony crimes.
Melissa met her husband, JB Bailey, by divine appointment while visiting a church in Lawrenceville, GA in 2011. After meeting, Melissa and JB immediately fell in love and realized it was God’s perfect will for them to be together and they married in 2012. In 2015, Melissa gave birth to their son, Obadiah. After Obadiah was born, Melissa chose to stop working and stay home with Obadiah. Melissa believed it was God’s will for her to be at home with their son, training him up in the way that he should go.
Melissa and her family relocated to North Georgia in 2016 to be closer to Melissa’s home. Melissa and her family have since returned to New Life Bible Church where Melissa and JB currently serve as Deacons.
Throughout her walk with the Lord, Melissa has witnessed and been a part of countless miracles and the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost. It is her heart’s desire for the Lord to use her in whatever way he needs, and for the gifts and fruits of the Spirit to be operating and manifested in her life. Melissa is excited for the opportunity to serve as the Director of New Life Bible College, and looks forward to imparting the love of Jesus and her understanding of the Word to the students of New Life Bible College.
In August 2018 along with her duties as Bible School Director, Melissa was appointed the Administrative Pastor over New Life Bible Church.
