New Life Bible College

About Us

Our vision at New Life Bible College has remained the same since it’s foundation by Dr. Norvel Hayes in 1977. New Life Bible College is a training center designed to instruct students in how to grow spiritually and obtain a closer relationship with God. Courses are designed to minister to Christians of all levels of spiritual maturity and development. Students are comprised of laymen and ministers, as well as those who are planning to enter full-time ministry in the future. The purpose of New Life Bible College is to better equip all Christians in their daily growth and to help fulfill the commission and vision that God has given to each individual.

Dr. Norvel Hayes is a successful businessman, internationally renowned Bible teacher, and founder of several Christian ministries in the U.S. and abroad.

Dr. Hayes founded New Life Bible College (located in Cleveland, Tennessee) in 1977, and New Life Bible Church eventually grew out of the Bible College’s chapel services. New Life Bible College offers accredited degrees on-campus, as well as online through courses which are made available through the Global Campus website.

The New Life Community Kitchen is among Dr. Hayes’ many outreach programs, and enables New Life to minister God’s Word and hot meals to the poor on a daily basis. Dr. Hayes is also founder and president of New Life Maternity Home, a ministry dedicated to the spiritual, physical and financial needs of young girls during pregnancy.

Dr. Hayes is known internationally for his dynamic exposition of the Word of God. He spends most of his time teaching and ministering God’s deliverance and healing power in churches, college classrooms, convention centers, and seminars all around the world.

Melissa Bailey was born into and raised by a spirit-filled family. Melissa grew up in Cleveland, TN and has attended New Life Bible Church off and on throughout her life. Dr. Norvel Hayes laid hand on and prayed over Melissa when she was less than 5 years old, and Melissa would often imitate Benny Hinn while playing with her older sister.

Melissa attended North Georgia College and State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After college, Melissa spent the next 2 years pursuing the Lord out of her hunger and desire to be used by Him. During this time, Melissa studied the Word daily and was trained by the Holy Ghost and various Bible scholars to include: Dr. Norvel Hayes, Kenneth E. Hagin, Lester Summrall, R.W. Schambach, Benny Hinn, and T. L. Osborn, to name a few. It was also during this time, that Melissa received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and her prayer language. Melissa also received countless biblical and ministerial training from her father, Pastor Keith Chancey.

Melissa began her professional career as a Victim Witness Advocate with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office in Gwinnett County, GA. While in this position, Melissa’s passion to minister and her compassion for people only grew stronger as she served as a personal advocate for victims of felony crimes.

Melissa met her husband, JB Bailey, by divine appointment while visiting a church in Lawrenceville, GA in 2011. After meeting, Melissa and JB immediately fell in love and realized it was God’s perfect will for them to be together and they married in 2012. In 2015, Melissa gave birth to their son, Obadiah. After Obadiah was born, Melissa chose to stop working and stay home with Obadiah. Melissa believed it was God’s will for her to be at home with their son, training him up in the way that he should go.

Melissa and her family relocated to North Georgia in 2016 to be closer to Melissa’s home. Melissa and her family have since returned to New Life Bible Church where Melissa and JB currently serve as Deacons.

Throughout her walk with the Lord, Melissa has witnessed and been a part of countless miracles and the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost. It is her heart’s desire for the Lord to use her in whatever way he needs, and for the gifts and fruits of the Spirit to be operating and manifested in her life. Melissa is excited for the opportunity to serve as the Director of New Life Bible College, and looks forward to imparting the love of Jesus and her understanding of the Word to the students of New Life Bible College.

In August 2018 along with her duties as Bible School Director, Melissa was appointed the Administrative Pastor over New Life Bible Church.

The Scriptures. The Bible is the inspired word of God, imparted to man by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is infallible and given to man for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, so that God′s people may mature and accomplish His will on the earth. (II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25)

The Godhead. There is one True and Living God made up of three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal. (John 1:1-5, 10-14; Matthew 28:18-20)

Man, His Fall, and Redemption. God created man in His image, perfect and without sin. God created man for fellowship with Him, but man rebelled against God and took on the nature of sin. The only way for man to be restored back to fellowship with the Father is through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:1-5, 10-14; Matthew 28:18-20)

The Salvation of Man. Sin separated man from God, and man′s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Those who desire to be saved must believe that Jesus died for their sin and rose again; accept the washing away of their sin by the blood of Jesus; and invite Jesus into their heart and confess Him as their Lord and Savior. (Romans 3:24, 10-18; 10:8-10)

Salvation is an act of grace by which one receives not only forgiveness for sin, but also a new nature—the nature of Christ. Salvation cannot be earned or merited through works; it is a free gift from God to everyone of every race, color, gender, or creed who receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. (Psalm 103:3; Ephesians 2:8)

Healing. Jesus took all of our sickness, disease, and infirmities into His own body on the cross so that we would not have to bear them. A believer can access the grace of God through faith for healing, and thereby receive divine health for his own body. Furthermore, he can believe for the healing of others. (I Peter 2:24; Mark 16:17-18)

Sanctification. Once a person is born again, he should endeavor to live a life that is pleasing to God according to His Word and walk after righteousness. He should earnestly seek after God, endeavoring to walk in his new nature and put away the things of the old, sin nature. (Romans 5:17, 12:2; II Corinthians 7:1)

Water Baptism. Baptism in water is a physical action symbolizing a believer′s putting off of the old, sin nature and being identified with Jesus′ death; and then the putting on of the new nature and being identified with Jesus′ resurrection to the newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Acts 10:47-48)

Communion. Communion is an act of remembrance of Jesus′ body being broken and His blood being shed for the sins of the world. (I Corinthians 11:24-25, 28)

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. All Christians are entitled to, and should earnestly seek, the Promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. It is the infilling of the Holy Spirit that brings the power of God to a believer. (Acts 2:38, 10:44-46, 19:2; Galatians 5:16-26)

Speaking in tongues is a gift of God that should be earnestly sought after as evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This supernatural prayer language is what propels a believer into a greater walk of fellowship with God and a greater walk of victory. (Acts 1:8, 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:2, 6; Galatians 5:16-26)

The Church. The Church is the Body of Christ made up of people redeemed by Christ. Every member of the body has a unique call and plays a vital role in the fulfillment of God′s will on the earth. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23)

Jesus′ Return. Jesus is coming back to earth to gather those who have been born again to live with Him forever. (I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Eternal Punishment. Anyone who has not received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God and will receive eternal punishment with the devil and all his followers. (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15)
